    This tartan was commissioned by East Kilbride Development Corp. for use by its many friends and visitors and by the people of the town. Designed by the Scottish Tartans Society the tartan echoes the symbolism of the ensigns armorial granted by the Lord Lyon King of Arms. The first material was woven into rugs presented to Her Majesty the Queen who was visiting with the Duke of Edinburgh to East Kilbride on July 12, 1990. Woven by Lochcarron.
