Created by Santiago Bern?rdez in apparent oppostion to 4946 (Galicia) which was designed by Dr. Phil Smith. This is now claimed to be the official Galician tartan for that autonomous region of Spain but no documentary proof of that claim is to hand. Galicia is an autonomous community in northwest Spain, and was one of the first kingdoms of Europe (Kingdom of Galicia). Its component provinces are A Coru?a, Lugo, Ourense and Pontevedra. It borders Portugal to the south, the Spanish regions of Castile and Le?n and Asturias to the east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west. - undated — Gallaecia (Unofficial) (register-of-tartans, record)
