  • Dec. 1996 — Hawick Dress (District) (tartans-authority, record)
Asymmetric. Dress version of original district tartan designed by Andrew Elliot or Kenneth Hood of Andrew Elliot Ltd, Forest Mill, Galashiels, Scotland. Robin Elliot says that despite this being the same sett as their Hawick tartan, this is not their doing and they've never designed it or woven it. Estimated thread count for display purposes only. Scottish Tartans Society records that it was designed by Kenneth Hood of the Hawick Tartan Company: "For the town of Hawick and officially recognised by the Hon. Provost Mrs Myra Turnbull. It is unusual since it contains seven colours to incorporate all those associated with th town."
