This sett was requested by the RW Master of the designer's Mother Lodge after he gave a lecture about tartan in Coutance in 1987. Colours: the ground colour is a very light blue as are the walls of Blue Lodges; the red, green and blue stripes represent the columns of the Second Warden, the First Warden and the central blue pillar the RW Master of the Lodge; added to the RGB are white and yellow for the sun and the moon, the setsquare and the compass. At the pivots there is a white and black pavement following the teaching of Hugh Cleide and Peter Gower.
