Designed by Michael King of Philip King Kiltmakers, George St., Abredeen. Woven by Lochcarron and launched on St Andrew's Day 1993. A modification of Black Watch / Campbell. Sample in Scottish Tartans Authority's Johnston Collection. Thought to have originally been woven by D C Dalgliesh but large quantity dictated a move to Lochcarron. Strathmore Woollen Company sample. Now woven by Marton Mills (Aug 2005). - 01/01/1994 — Scottish National (register-of-tartans, record)
Designed originally for the Scottish National Party but now manufactured and sold without the political association. There is some similarity in the proportions of the sett to the National Tartan produced by the Scottish Woollen Manufacturers Association in 1934. The tartan has been recorded by the Scottish Tartans Society.1994.
