The tartan recorded as 'Grant' in the 'Vestiarium Scoticum' (Edinburgh, 1842) by John Sobieski Stolberg Stuart and Charles Edward Stuart (also known as John Carter Allen and Charles Manning Allen, or John and Charles Hay Allen). The Vestiarium Grant sett omits the azure lines of the standard Clan Grant tartan.
