    This was the first corporate tartan done for the Macallan Distillery at Craigallachie by Johnstons. It is basically MacDonald Clan with a yellow line through it.

    This was the first corporate tartan done for the Macallan Distillery at Craigallachie by Johnstons. It is basically MacDonald Clan with a yellow line through it. In those days Macallan was still a family owned company. Later, in 1999 Peter MacArthur of Hamilton were asked to do another tartan by the then owners (#5837).A woven sample in the Dalgety Collection has the yellow line between the green and the black - not between the black and the blue as shown here. Not known which is correct.
