Threadcount recorded by Kenneth Urquhart of Urquhart, Chief of the Urquharts, in the Lyon Court Books (writs section), 76, 14 October 1991. Sometimes called Urquhart Old or Ancient which are both misnomers since this designer is more recent than the Urquhart (SRT #4431). - 1842 — Urquhart - 1842 (Clan) (tartans-authority, record)
Green lightened to show sett. Tartan Society notes say it is interesting to note that much of the forged sixteenth century manuscript on which the Vestiarium Scoticum was based was supposedly transcribed by Sir Richard Urquhart in 1721. Sample in Paton's collection. The Setts No: 249. Innes No 110. W & A K Johnston, 1906.
