2 attestations — the source records this cloth was collapsed from (oldest owns this page)
  • 01/01/1992 — Connaught (register-of-tartans, record)
Designed in 1992 as a tartan for the west of Ireland. Sample in Scottish Tartans Authority's Johnston Collection.
  • 1992 — Connacht (District) (Smith) (tartans-authority, record)
Designed in 1992 as a tartan for the west of Ireland but doesn't seem to have been used except by St. Croix Weavers in Hudson, Wisconsin. Connacht is the Irish spelling of the area known elsewhere as Connaught. Is alleged to be more politically acceptable among some Irish Americans than the 'English tainted' Connaught woven by Lochcarron (a Scottisah weaver!).
