A tartan of the Moray of Abercairney family. Its design is pattern BRGRR — the page of every tartan sharing this colour sequence.
Derived from a c.1735 portrait of James, 14th Laird; resembles Perthshire setts but not Clan Murray tartan.
The Moray of Abercairney tartan groups 2 setts — the same named design recorded as different cloths (its kilt, Carpet, Child's…, or a transcription apart). The master sett (★) is the exemplar.
