MacPherson Dress

A tartan of Clan MacPherson. Its design is pattern GGWGWRW — the page of every tartan sharing this colour sequence.

Modern trade variant of Dress MacPherson, supplied c.1980 by Edinburgh kiltmaker Hugh Macpherson; popular with country dancers.

The MacPherson Dress tartan groups 4 setts — the same named design recorded as different cloths (its kilt, Carpet, Child's…, or a transcription apart). The master sett (★) is the exemplar.
