MacKay of Strathnaver

A tartan of the MacKay, of Strathnaver family. Its design is pattern GRKRBRRRBRGRYRYRGRBRRRBRKRG — the page of every tartan sharing this colour sequence.

Designed circa 1952 for Wm Andersons of Edinburgh and Lord Reay, depicting the seasons of the year.

The MacKay of Strathnaver tartan groups 2 setts — the same named design recorded as different cloths (its kilt, Carpet, Child's…, or a transcription apart). The master sett (★) is the exemplar.
