Its design is pattern BGBGKGBGBWKGKG — the page of every tartan sharing this colour sequence.
Black-and-green hunting design with yellow lines, first recorded 1908; resembles hunting MacLean but for the Siol Alpin clan.
The MacAlpine tartan groups 2 setts — the same named design recorded as different cloths (its kilt, Carpet, Child's…, or a transcription apart). The master sett (★) is the exemplar.
