Its design is pattern BKBKBYGKGKGKGKGBGBGKGKGKGKGYBKBKBG — the page of every tartan sharing this colour sequence.

Commissioned 1992, based on Brodie tartan with elements from Hawick-area family setts; Hyslop spelling known in Galloway.

The Hislop Hunting tartan is recorded as a single sett.
