Its design is pattern GRGRBRBRBRGRBR — the page of every tartan sharing this colour sequence.
Documented in an 1797 Wilson's of Bannockburn order for '50 Ells Bruce sett'; predates the later 'new' sett.
The Bruce Old tartan groups 2 setts — the same named design recorded as different cloths (its kilt, Carpet, Child's…, or a transcription apart). The master sett (★) is the exemplar.
