The Dukes of Perth were the chiefs of Clan Drummond — the Jacobite dukedom created for the 4th Earl of Perth and forfeited after the '45. The Duke of Perth tartan is best known through the country dance of the name, recorded in many slightly different setts; the family also gathers the two readings recovered from Domenico Duprà's 1739 portrait of John Drummond, 4th titular Duke of Perth — see the painting's story.
